Nintendo, platformers and family-friendly games explained

Editorial Policy

Our Goal

Inside Gaming Net publishes evergreen explainers about Nintendo systems, Nintendo’s game series, platformers and family-friendly games. Our goal is accuracy and clarity. This page explains how we choose topics, how we check facts and what we do when we get something wrong.

How We Choose Topics

We focus on questions players and parents genuinely ask and that stay relevant beyond a single release week: how a Switch 2 feature works, where to start with a series, which games suit a young child, or how a genre developed. We avoid rumours, leaks and content that depends on this week’s sales chart or patch. We do not publish betting or gambling content.

Research and Fact-Checking

  • Release dates, platforms, developer and publisher credits are checked against official sources and established references.
  • System features, settings and procedures are checked against Nintendo’s official support pages.
  • Age ratings are checked against the ESRB and PEGI databases.
  • Where facts can change, such as subscription contents, platform availability or the status of an announced game, we state the point in time they refer to, for example “as of 2026”.
  • Sales figures, awards, prices and records are included only when we can verify them with a reliable, dated source.
  • If we cannot verify a claim, we leave it out. We do not invent quotes, statistics or personal play experiences.

Family Content

Advice for parents is general and practical. We do not give medical or psychological advice; where health questions come up, we point readers to qualified professionals and reputable organisations. Recommendation lists are written to be spoiler-free.

Sources

Each article ends with a list of the main sources we used, linked so readers can check them. We prefer primary sources such as Nintendo and publisher websites, official manuals and support pages, supported by reputable reference works and gaming outlets.

Use of AI Tools

AI tools assist our team with research organisation and drafting. Every article is then fact-checked against sources and edited by a person before publication. Responsibility for what we publish rests with our editorial team, not with any software.

Authorship

Articles are published under the pen name Casey Whitlock, which represents our small independent editorial team. We do not attribute credentials or experience to the pen name that we do not have.

Corrections

If you find an error, please email [email protected] with the article link and, ideally, a source. We review every report. Factual errors are corrected promptly, and significant corrections are noted at the end of the article with the date of the update. We also revisit evergreen articles when a system update, re-release or new edition changes the facts.

Sponsored Content and Links

Inside Gaming Net is independent and not affiliated with Nintendo or any other developer, publisher, platform holder or storefront. If we publish sponsored content, it will always be clearly labelled “Sponsored”, and any paid links will carry the rel=”sponsored” attribute. Sponsors have no influence over our regular editorial content, including our recommendations.
